Devoted to the Great Command and the Great Commission
Karis Community Church exists to glorify God by cultivating communities devoted to the Great Commandment and the Great Commission. We long to cherish Christ above all else and commend Him to our families, friends, neighbors and to the ends of the Earth. We strive to build authentic community founded upon a deep love for God, His word, His people and His purposes that bears fruit in our local spheres of influence and to the nations. Come and join us to experience the life giving power of the Good News of Jesus’ love for us!
We believe the Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, to be the inspired Word of God, without error in the original writings, the complete revelation of His will for the salvation of men and the Divine and final authority for all Christian faith and life.
We believe in one God, Creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
We believe that Jesus Christ is true God and true man, having been conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He died on the cross as a sacrifice for our sins according to the Scriptures. Further, He arose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, where, at the right hand of the Majesty on High, He now is our High Priest and Advocate.
We believe that the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ and, during this age, to convict men, regenerate the believing sinner, and indwell, guide, instruct and empower the believer for godly living and service.
We believe that man was created in the image of God but fell into sin and is, therefore, lost, and only through regeneration by the Holy Spirit can salvation and spiritual life be obtained.
We believe that the shed blood of Jesus Christ and His resurrection provide the only ground for justification and salvation for all who believe, and only such as receive Jesus Christ are born of the Holy Spirit, and thus become children of God.
We believe that water baptism and the Lord’s Supper are ordinances to be observed by the Church during the present age. They are, however, not to be regarded as means of salvation.
We believe that the true Church is composed of all such persons who through saving faith in Jesus Christ have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit and are united together in the body of Christ of which He is the Head.
The Church is not a religious institution or denomination. Rather, the Church universal is made up of those who have become genuine followers of Christ and personally appropriated the Gospel. The Church exists to worship and glorify God as Father, Son and Holy Spirit. It also exists to serve Him by faithfully doing His will in the earth.
We believe in the personal imminent coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and that this “Blessed Hope” has a vital bearing on the personal life and service of the believer.
We believe in the bodily resurrection of the dead; of the believer to everlasting blessedness and joy with the Lord; of the unbeliever to judgment and everlasting conscious punishment.
In today’s world of relativism and religious pluralism, we embrace and proclaim the absolute truth revealed through the Bible that Jesus Christ is the way the truth and the life and that only through him we can eternal life. (John 14:6, 2 Timothy 3:16-17)
We desire to be a community that encounters, experiences and extends the costly, life transforming grace of God revealed through Jesus Christ. (John 3:16, Romans 12:1-2, Act 4:33, 2 Corinthians 8:9)
We desire to be a church that fulfills Jesus’ command to make disciples of all nations, radically cherishing Jesus Christ above all else, following in his footsteps and commending Him to our friends, family, our communities and to the nations. (Luke 9:23, Matthew 28:19-20)
We desire to be a church marked by genuine community meeting the needs of the body of Christ and our community through deepening relationships of love and accountability. (Acts 2:42, Proverbs 27:17)
We desire to be a church that proclaims and embodies the Gospel in relevant and creative ways to reach our community. (1 Corinthians 9:22-23)
We desire to be a church that loves and worships God in joyful and persevering obedience, cherishing Him in everything we do for his glory, giving him our all and our best. (Deuteronomy 6:4, Galatians 2:19, Philippians 3:10-11)
We commit to be a church marked by integrity in our leadership and in the stewardship of all that God has entrusted to us (Matthew 25:21, 1 Timothy 3:2, 1 Peter 5:2-3)
